SocialWorks 193 is an integrated transformation partner to organisations in international development and the whole of civil society. Behind that role stands a belief system: people, not systems. Trust instead of layers of control. Transparency, fairness and equality as lived practice. With more than four decades of executive leadership across management consulting, financial services and major international non-profit organisations, we bring the operational, financial and political fluency to sit inside our partners' hardest decisions, not outside them. We work as an international practice by design: through our own team and network across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
People, not systems
Every organisation runs on systems: logframes, dashboards, compliance checklists, funding cycles. Systems matter, but they are a means, never the mission. Our sector should invest in people, not projects: in the judgement of local leaders, the professionalism of the people who deliver the work, and the agency of the communities it serves. Every system we design exists to serve people, not the other way around.
Trust
Much of what is broken in the sector is, underneath, a trust problem: layers of control pile up because funders do not trust partners to use money well, and funding stays short-term because donors do not trust organisations or the communities they serve to know their own priorities. We work the other way: as an embedded partner who shares risk rather than a distant auditor, with decisions placed as close as possible to the people who live with their consequences.
What we stand for
People: every system we design exists to serve the people in it, never the reverse. Trust: we share risk, we do not oversee from a distance. Transparency: how value and decisions move should be visible, not taken on faith. Fairness: the receiving side of a relationship benefits at least as much as the giving side. Equality: a voice counts on the strength of what it says, not its seniority or geography. Economic thinking: support is a respectful investment expected to create lasting value, not a gift.

We intend to prove these beliefs with more than words: 193 ImpactShare is a governed mechanism that shares a defined portion of annual profit with the three groups who create it, our employees, our clients, and the partner organisations and communities our projects serve. Each group directs its own share: personal security, reinvestment, or vetted community projects. Independently audited, publicly reported, activating once the company reaches stable profitability as part of our founding plan. There are 193 countries in the world. We are on our way to them, and the value we create travels with us, shared fairly among everyone who helped create it.
Our position in the market
Pragmatic about method: tools fit the context, not the trend. No global masterplan, but local reality and firm evidence. Uncompromising about conviction: structural power imbalances are real, fairness and justice sit at the centre, and genuine participation moves communities from beneficiaries to co-designers. We concentrate where the gap between local delivery capacity and global standards is widest: climate change, migration, cybersecurity and the digital divide, global health, and education. Our position in one line: pragmatic about method, uncompromising about conviction.
